Alain Prost

Alain Prost is a French racing driver who won four World Drivers' Championships, in 1985, 1986, 1989 and 1993. Nicknamed "The Professor" for his smooth, calculating and strategically astute driving style, he retired in 1993 holding the record for most Grand Prix wins at 51.

Prost rose to prominence with McLaren in the 1980s, where his championship battles with team-mate Ayrton Senna became one of the most intense rivalries the sport has ever seen. He also drove for Renault and Ferrari before winning his final title with Williams.

After retiring as a driver he ran his own team, Prost Grand Prix, and later returned to the paddock in an advisory role with Renault. He remains one of France's most celebrated sportsmen.
