Jim Clark

Jim Clark was a Scottish racing driver who won two World Championships, in 1963 and 1965, driving for Lotus throughout his Formula 1 career. Widely considered one of the most naturally gifted drivers ever, he set records for wins and pole positions that defined the 1960s.

Clark's versatility was extraordinary: in 1965 he won the F1 title and the Indianapolis 500 in the same year. His partnership with Lotus founder Colin Chapman produced some of the most dominant performances of the era.

His death in a Formula 2 race at Hockenheim in 1968 stunned the motorsport world and is often cited as a turning point that intensified the push for greater safety.
