Honda confirms HRC leadership change for 2027

Honda Racing Corporation has confirmed a leadership change ahead of the 2027 season. Current president and CEO Koji Watanabe will retire on 1 January 2027, with Keiichi Yasuda set to succeed him.

Watanabe has led Honda’s racing activities under HRC since 2022. Honda said the change forms part of key adjustments to its racing structure as it prepares for 2027.

A long-time Honda employee, Watanabe first joined the company in 1987. During his time in charge of HRC, he oversaw the merger of Honda’s four-wheel and two-wheel racing divisions.
