McLaren makes changes as Norris hopes to resolve fuel system issue in Singapore

Lando Norris said he is hopeful McLaren has solved a fuel system problem on his car which he says has compromised his performance in recent races. He described the issue as having cost him "quite a lot" and said he and the team have underperformed over the last two race weekends.

Ahead of Singapore, McLaren made a number of peripheral changes to Norris' Mercedes power unit in an effort to eradicate the persistent problem. In Baku, the team was notably off the pace on the long straights compared with Mercedes, which uses the same engines.

Reports said some of McLaren's deficit in Azerbaijan was attributed to the car's inherent weaknesses and to the way the Mercedes power unit was run. Norris said McLaren needs to do a better job moving forward.
