Alpine retain Franco Colapinto for 2027 alongside Pierre Gasly

Alpine have announced that Franco Colapinto has signed a contract extension to remain with the team for the 2027 Formula 1 season. The deal confirms Alpine’s 2027 driver line-up as Colapinto and Pierre Gasly.

Multiple outlets reported that Colapinto will stay on for what has been described as his second full-time campaign with the Enstone-based team. He has been Gasly’s team-mate since joining Alpine from round seven of the 2025 season after stepping up from a reserve driver role to replace Jack Doohan.

Reports also said Alpine’s decision followed Colapinto impressing the team after that promotion. Coverage from Formula1.com and The Race noted that Alpine believed it had seen enough to keep him in the seat for 2027.
