Formula 2 has unveiled its new car for the 2027-2029 seasons. The championship said the model builds on the current generation and is intended to reinforce F2’s role as the final step on the route to Formula 1.
The car retains the 2026 Dallara chassis to help control costs, but introduces redesigned front and rear wings and other substantial revisions. According to the FIA, the aerodynamic changes are aimed at enabling closer racing and helping drivers follow the car ahead more effectively.
Its styling has also been moved closer to contemporary Formula 1 design ideas, reflecting broader changes seen in F1. The car will continue to use the established 3.4-litre turbocharged Mecachrome engine.
