Leclerc says he had other options before Ferrari renewal

Multiple outlets reported that Charles Leclerc had other opportunities before agreeing a new deal with Ferrari. The reports said each extension of his relationship with the team has been accompanied by suggestions that other suitors were interested in him.

Speaking on a recent episode of F1’s Beyond the Grid podcast, Leclerc was asked how seriously he had considered a life away from Ferrari. In the excerpt cited by both reports, he said he was fortunate to be in that position and referenced having his manager.

The reports did not identify the other opportunities in the provided excerpts, but presented Leclerc’s comments as part of the background to his latest Ferrari renewal.
