Herta remains one point short of superlicence after Cadillac F1 outing
Colton Herta is still reported to be one point short of the Formula 1 superlicence required for a race seat because of what multiple outlets described as a bizarre error linked to the Mexico City GP. His latest outing with Cadillac was also presented as an important chance to strengthen his case for a future F1 drive.

Multiple reports said Herta remains one superlicence point short of Formula 1 eligibility. The Race and ESPN both said the shortfall stems from a bizarre error related to the Mexico City Grand Prix, which has delayed any immediate move into F1.
At the same time, Herta took part in another Cadillac Formula 1 outing. The Race described that run as an important audition in the context of a possible seat next year, including as a potential replacement for Valtteri Bottas.
Comments carried by Formula 1 reflected a positive assessment from Cadillac, with Marc Hynes saying Herta "did a great job for us again." Herta also made clear he wants to reach Formula 1 as soon as possible.
