Mercedes assess upgrade issues after mixed Singapore Sprint Qualifying

Mercedes has looked more vulnerable over the last two race weekends after previously being the dominant team. In Singapore, the team reverted George Russell's car to an older specification for the weekend.

Russell qualified second for the sprint and said he was pretty satisfied with P2, although he only narrowly progressed through an earlier phase of Sprint Qualifying. On the other side of the garage, championship leader Kimi Antonelli finished seventh, around half a second slower than his team-mate.

The differing results came as Mercedes continued to struggle to understand its newer upgrades. That uncertainty has become a key theme for the team as it tries to explain its recent loss of pace.
