Biography
George Russell is a British racing driver competing for Mercedes in the FIA Formula One World Championship. A graduate of the Mercedes junior programme, he won the GP3 and Formula 2 titles in consecutive seasons before reaching F1.
Russell spent three seasons honing his craft with Williams, where a standout drive in the wet at the 2021 Belgian Grand Prix underlined his potential. Promoted to Mercedes in 2022, he took his first win in Brazil that year.
Quick, articulate and a director of the Grand Prix Drivers' Association, Russell is viewed as a long-term cornerstone of the Mercedes team.
