Alonso says regulation changes will shape Aston Martin F1 future decision

Fernando Alonso has yet to confirm whether he will continue in Formula 1 next season. Questions about his future have remained a talking point, including during the Italian Grand Prix weekend.

Alonso said his points finish at the Dutch Grand Prix is not enough on its own to determine whether he stays in F1. He indicated that the key factor in his decision is more likely to be tweaks to the regulations.

The 45-year-old is under contract with Aston Martin until the end of the 2026 season. Aston Martin has also indicated that a decision on Alonso's future does not need to be made immediately.
