Russell leads FP2 at Monza ahead of Leclerc and Antonelli

George Russell topped Free Practice 2 for the 2026 Italian Grand Prix at Monza with a best lap of 1:22.559. That put the Mercedes driver 0.120 seconds clear of Ferrari's Charles Leclerc, while Mercedes team-mate Kimi Antonelli was third, 0.141s off the pace.

The session took place in very hot conditions after a busy opening practice earlier in the day. The Audi drivers were among the first to head onto the circuit at the start of FP2.

Max Verstappen returned to action for Red Bull after handing his car over to Ayumu Iwasa in the earlier session. Russell's quickest lap also stood as the fastest time of Friday practice at Monza.
