Ferrari strategy calls draw questions from Hamilton and Leclerc at Zandvoort

Ferrari’s strategy decisions were a talking point during the Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort. Lewis Hamilton later acknowledged that his frustration over team radio was not his “best version”, and team principal Fred Vasseur explained why Hamilton had been left feeling that way.

On the other side of the garage, Charles Leclerc questioned a call that he felt may have hurt his chances of a podium. Leclerc’s stop at the end of lap 43 left him without what he described as any real tools to challenge George Russell for third place in the closing stages.

Leclerc said he did not understand why Ferrari chose to bring him in so close to Russell. The strategy decision became a key focus of Ferrari’s race after it appeared to affect the fight for the final podium position.
